In 2016 I am taking /have taken 3 groups of like minded travellers to Bali for Interior Design and homewares shopping. The tours were in March (completed with 19 ladies – a huge success), May (completed with 9 ladies, a smaller villa tour – JUST WONDERFUL!) and October and are now FULLY BOOKED. If you would like to register your interest in a “waitlist” on these tours OR to travel in 2017 please drop me a line to the email below. I cannot recommend Melinda’s Pineapple Villa Tour of Bali highly enough. As a keen interiors lover and self-confessed shopaholic, as well as a Baliophile, I signed up for the March trip. From the outset, Melinda was professional, thorough and incredibly organised. Her enthusiasm and excitement was palpable and her regular updates via the closed Facebook page were invaluable for both keeping me in the loop and generating excitement for the trip! As a solo traveller, upon arrival at the hotel in Seminyak (which was stunning by the way!) I instantly felt at home, not only with my roomie (a stranger) but with all the lovely Pineapple Villa ladies! Mel was the perfect hostess and worked tirelessly to ensure the perfect balance of incredible shopping experiences, one in a lifetime opportunities to visit the private villas of Stuart Membery and Kim Soo and the Yayasan Metta Mama and Maggha orphanage (absolute highlights) and to ensure no stone was left unturned when it came to shopping for gorgeous fashion, divine Homewares and gifts and sampling the finest restaurants and bars on offer. I’ve been back in Sydney for just on 3 weeks now and I can honestly say I’m having withdrawals from spending a fabulous week with this wonderful group of creative and inspiring women, a good mix of stylists, homewares merchants and others like myself, with a passion and flair for beautiful interiors and unique and stylish homewares! I miss the girls, the laughs and the enormous amount of fun we had and have made wonderful friends, having caught up with a few of them already. I can honestly say that participating in Mel’s trip was one of the most inspiring and enjoyable things I’ve ever done! Mel, I honestly can’t thank you enough for putting your heart and soul into this trip and I hope to be lucky enough to join you (and some of the girls from our trip!) again in the very near future x
I had the absolute pleasure of joining Melinda and 7 delightful others on a very special Pineapple Bali Tour in May of 2016. It was a truly fabulous experience on so many levels. Melinda has a great deal of inside knowledge about Bali and not just Seminyak – we ventured to Ubud, Legian, Kerobokan, Umalas, Echo Beach and Sanur. She has amassed a wealth of knowledge over her many, many visits and made very reliable contacts who, together with Melinda, made our trip truly special. We were introduced to Melinda’s personal driver, for whom nothing was too much to ask (including driving along a busy shopping strip and yelling “Stop!” when a shop window caught someone’s eye). Melinda’s other contacts include, a fabulous dressmaker, cushion maker, leather worker and Mr Charming, a man with a diverse array of talents, and contacts of his own. Melinda is also on a first name basis with almost all of the owners of the gorgeous homeware outlets that we visited. I cannot speak highly enough of Melinda’s role as a tour guide, from her happy and accommodating nature, to her fabulous sense of humour, and I am so happy to say that I now call her a friend. Every woman should get herself on a Pineapple Villa Bali tour, whether you are a first timer like myself, or a regular, Melinda will open everyone’s eyes to the beauty of Bali. I should also mention that each of our dining destinations were also sensational! #pineaapplebalitour #justdoit.
